He trained in negotiation at Harvard University and was named Specialist of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards in 2003 and Mediator of the Year at the Law Awards of Scotland in 2009. He was awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws from Edinburgh Napier University in 2010. He is an internationally recognised coach, facilitator and strategic adviser in the fields of negotiation, mediation and communication and has worked with business leaders and executives, senior civil servants, top athletes and parliamentarians and has been described as "one of the best teachers of mediation." He became a Queen's Counsel in 1999, is a Visiting Professor at Edinburgh University and, as the first Director of Training and Education in the Faculty of Advocates from 1994 to 2002, designed and led the Scottish Bar's award-winning advocacy skills programme.
Formerly Director of Strategy and Chief Economist at Scottish Enterprise and now executive director of the Scottish Universities Insight Institute, Charlie has extensive experience of industry, commerce, and public and private sector organisations, ranging from SMEs to government. Liz was a commercial litigation lawyer in London for 10 years. One of the first people in the UK to become an accredited mediator, she has been mediating for nearly 20 years. She is recognised by Chambers Guide for her expertise in workplace and team conflicts and for her innovation and creativity.

Miriam Kennedy is Core's main office contact for all mediation, facilitation and training enquiries. She holds an upper-second class law degree with honours from the University of Edinburgh and joined Core after taking a specific interest in commercial mediation. Working closely with Core's Chief Executive, Miriam is responsible for ensuring the effective management and administration of all mediations and training courses, including Core's flagship Mediation Skills course. Miriam manages the day-to-day running of the business, website and marketing.
