Access Arrangements in Divorce
A couple had been divorced for many years, and separated for even longer. Throughout that period of time, there had been ongoing difficulties between them in relation to access arrangements to their two children.
During a day’s mediation, guided by an experienced mediator, the parties gained a fresh perspective. They began focusing on the importance of each of their roles in the children’s lives as parents, rather than on a strict division of time. Indeed, it was agreed that the parties would make a joint approach to the school in an attempt to try to improve the situation there for one of the children.
