The Core businesses seek to be at the heart of, and to help shape, a new direction in Scotland. Core provides innovative and independent conflict management services using mediation, and other facilitation approaches, together with coaching and training, producing prompt and effective solutions to practical business problems, built on effective business, professional and personal relationships. Currently, there is no other Scottish organisation which seeks to provide a service of this kind.

John Sturrock QC
John heads up Core Mediation, of which he is the founder, and is a co-director of Core Mediation with Pamela Lyall. Described in Chambers 2004 UK Guide to the Legal Profession as "the foremost mediator in Scotland" and also an internationally-recognised advocacy and mediation coach, John is a lead faculty member with CEDR and trained in negotiation at Harvard University. He was named Specialist of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards in 2003. He became a member of the Scottish Bar in 1986 and from 1994 to 2002 was Director of Training and Education at the Faculty of Advocates. He is visiting Professor of Advocacy Skills and Conflict Resolution at the Glasgow Graduate School of Law.

Pamela Lyall
Pamela is a qualified solicitor-advocate and former litigation partner and head of insurance litigation at the law firm Dundas & Wilson. She is a CEDR-accredited mediator and a consultant to the voluntary sector. She heads up the Case Management team at Core Mediation, giving advice on mediation and its benefits. She has wide experience as a commercial mediator across a broad range of sectors. Pamela is also a well regarded coach in mediation and specialist training courses.

Steven McCann
Steven is Core's Business Support Administrator. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the office including organising and administering Core courses, company finance and systems design and review. Steven was recently recognised in the national press for his outstanding contribution for financial management on behalf of multi-award winning Edinburgh Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Lynne Davies
