The Scotsman newspaper (9 May 2006) featured the experiences of Bill Marsh, a recent addition to Core’s international panel of mediators and one of the most experienced mediators in the UK. The Scotsman, in the Recruitment section of the Friday 3 March edition, featured a two page article on mediation titled "Mediation tactics make friends from foes". The article quotes John Sturrock extensively and highlights the power of mediation as a tool for dealing with disputes and to enable parties to find creative solutions which might not otherwise be considered. The Scotsman (10 January 2006) quotes Pamela Lyall, director of Core Mediation, looking ahead:
"2005 was a breakthrough year for mediation, especially in commercial, business, professional and organisational disputes. In 2006, we would like to see Scottish courts more active, like their counterparts in England and other countries, in encouraging the use of mediation to reduce the number of cases which sit in the court system for long periods of time.

This will free up the courts to deal with cases which only judges can address and, at the same time, enable businesses and individuals who have got disputes to get these resolved much more quickly and efficiently. I'd also like to see law firms building on the significant changes which many have already adopted in their approach to helping clients solve problems at an early stage."

• Chambers UK Guide to the Legal Profession has named John Sturrock in its group of the UK’s leading mediators and described him as “one of the best teachers of mediation”.

• Business and Finance magazine, in its January edition, also featured Core's "Good Figures".
