Book Reviews
An encouraging review of our special anniversary book, 'Thinking Differently: Making a Difference Using Mediation':
'While many of us in the legal profession may think of mediation simply as an alternative to litigation, one of the many interesting features of this book is its wide range of sectors', writes Tom Johnston, of Young & Partners LLP, who sums up his review in the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland with the following words: 'Whether you are a devotee or a sceptic, I commend this fascinating and thought provoking book'.

A Guide to Mediating in Scotland (Dundee University Press): For the first time, the many fields of mediation in Scotland are comprehensively brought together in A Guide to Mediating in Scotland. As well as exploring the differences which occur between fields of activity, the book also identifies the key skills and core values in each and explores the common themes. This book will be helpful to anyone either thinking of how mediation may assist or simply wanting to know more. Posted January 2010.
Our good friend and colleague, and trainer in many of our courses, Miryana Nesic, was the co-author with Laurence Boulle of an excellent text on Mediator Skills and Techniques, subtitled Triangle of Influence. Published by Bloomsbury, it is full of practical guidance and appendices with useful documents and forms. A very worthwhile purchase. Posted January 2010.
